1. Who we are

This website (refaktory.be) is operated by:

Blue Planet Academy & Consulting bv, Rue de l'Autonomie 13, 1070 Anderlecht, Belgium
VAT: BE 0834.464.076
Email: diederik@refaktory.be

We are the controller for the personal data processed through cookies on this website.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow your browser to be recognised on a later visit, or your behaviour on the site to be measured.

In this policy we use “cookies” as an umbrella term for cookies and similar technologies that store or read information on your device: localStorage, sessionStorage, pixels/tracking pixels and device fingerprinting. The same rules apply to all of them.

We distinguish:

3. Which cookies do we place?

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)

These cookies are strictly necessary to operate the website and to deliver services you explicitly request (e.g. submitting a form). They cannot be switched off.

Cookie Purpose Retention Party
_refaktory_session Maintains your session during your visit Session Refaktory
CSRF-TOKEN / authenticity_token Protects forms against cross-site request forgery Session Refaktory
_rfk_consent Remembers your cookie choice so we don't have to ask again 6 months Refaktory
_rfk_visitor_token (localStorage) Links your consent choices to our compliance log Until you clear your browser storage Refaktory

3.2 Analytics cookies (consent required)

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how many visitors the site has, which pages they view and through which channel they arrive, so that we can improve the website. These cookies are only placed after you have given consent.

Cookie Purpose Retention Party
_ga Distinguishes unique visitors via a randomly generated ID 2 years Google
_ga_<measurement ID> Maintains session state for Google Analytics 4 2 years Google

Settings we apply:

More on how Google processes data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

3.3 Marketing cookies (consent required)

We use Google Ads to measure which advertisements lead to a contact request and, where applicable, to reach visitors again with advertising. These cookies are only placed after you have given consent.

Cookie Purpose Retention Party
_gcl_au Measures conversions from ads (Google Conversion Linker) 90 days Google
IDE (doubleclick.net) Serving advertisements and measuring their effectiveness 13 months Google
test_cookie (doubleclick.net) Checks whether your browser accepts cookies 15 minutes Google

We use Google Consent Mode v2: as long as you do not give consent, the Google tags load in a restricted mode in which no cookies are placed and only aggregated, non-identifiable signals are transmitted.

4. Legal basis

5. Managing your consent

On your first visit we display a cookie banner where you can choose per category. Refusing is as easy as accepting: an equivalent “Reject all” button sits next to “Accept all”.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

We ask for your choice again after a maximum of 6 months, and whenever we add a new cookie or new processing purposes.

6. Deleting cookies via your browser

You can also block or delete cookies directly in your browser. Note that if you block all cookies, parts of the site may stop working.

7. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Our analytics and advertising services are provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States.

Such transfers take place under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission adopted an adequacy decision on 10 July 2023 and under which Google LLC is certified, supplemented by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and additional technical measures.

8. What data do we process through cookies?

The cookies above may process, among other things: a randomly generated visitor ID, pages visited and timestamps, visit duration, the referring website or search term, estimated country/region, device type, operating system, browser and screen resolution.

For all other data processing on this website — your contact request, your newsletter subscription, your rights as a data subject and how to exercise them — please see our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes

We update this cookie policy when we add or remove cookies, or when the rules change. The date and version number at the top indicate the last change. In the event of a material change, we will ask for your consent again.
